Jesus,  as the Bible says, had been sent to the Israel. The problem was that His own people (Israel) did not receive Him. Bit as many as received Him, those who believed in Him, He gave them power to become Children of God. That woman being regarded in this verse was not a Jew and than is why Jesus used the terms to show that initially He had come to the Jews bit they did nothing receive Him. You have received Jesus and now you are a child of God. Halleluiah.

When you read the verses from 23 you can see how it goes. First jesus was going to a particular place (tyre, Sidon) when he was going to a destination a woman On the way interrupts jesus (which was common then) when the woman pleads to jesus he keeps quite which provokes his disciples to question him that (why can't you just do a miracle and let her go) the disciples were thinking from their common sense. Jesus replies that he has a destination to go and a purpose to follow. (Note this point) when the woman pleads to jesus to cure her daughter even if it's not his purpose /will . The woman believes that she can get a miracle because if jesus decides he can do a miracle. Then jesus tells the woman "your faith has saved you" so, this was a lesson to bis disciples when jesus leaves earth and when you(disciples) has to travel across the earth to proclaim the gospel and cure millions. They have to reach people by faith not by purpose or by choice. Jesus is great teacher.
