The wanderings of the Israelites in the wilderness was for 38 years to be exact. We round it off to 40. Now, the wanderings for the Israelites were due to the unbelief of theirs, on God who led them out of Egypt, with such theatrics, n His presence along with them in their camp, with direct acess through moses n aron. The episode are the ten spies sent out, n only two give good report, saying God will make them victorious over the giants. (Nephlims to b correct). Hence only joshua n caleb go into that land, n rest of that generation perishes in the wilderness as God didnt allow that generation to go in.-in short

An intresting fact for you. Jeruselem was destroyed after 38 years after the crucifiction, in 70 AD,just as jesus predicted, in the olivet discourse. Today the Jews dont have a place to worship!! Without sheding of the blood there is no remission of sins. N they dont hv a place to shed blood as per the law! God means what he says, n says ehat he means.
